Which school should I go to? UT austin vs texas a&m vs Texas tech?
I am in top 10% and i cant decide which college is best for me. I plan to pursue a professional degree in pharmacy. i know austin has a good program. in texas tech the first year is free. but my sister says lubbock is depressing compared to austin. texas a&m has way lower gpa requirements. idk why? texas tech and texas a&m has high std affected students. I am hard working but laid back kinda nerd. And i know that austins pharmacy program is very competetive compared to a&m and tech thanks in advanced i meant that freshman year for income below 40,000 is free( red raider guarantee)

Go with UT or Texas A&M. TAMU (as much as I hate to admit it being a Baylor grad and hard core Baylor fan) is a good school, so don't worry too much about their lower GPA requirements too much. Tech is just... bleh. I imagine they probably have a REASON (*ahem*) for offering a free first year. College Station would at least put you near within decent range of several good cities (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas-Ft. Worth). My strongest recommendation is for UT, especially since you are in the top 10%.

You are very confused when it comes to knowing these schools... so is the first answerer. Texas Tech and Texas A&M have completely average STD rates. That is an absolute rumor. All 3 schools are great, apply to all 3 and then make a choice. I don't think you would get a free year of pharmacy school at Tech unless top 10% gets a scholarship or something... Alright I see the Red Raider guarantee. I'm not going to say which school to go to because all 3 are great schools, but don't let misinformed people like the one above tell you thinks like Tech is "Blehhh" and has a high STD rate and a bunch of other crap because it is a great university that is rising in reputation rapidly. Good luck in your search.

About Check Engine light while driving only
Check Engine light while driving only?
Drove to Lubbock Tx from Odessa TX ( 100 miles ) and while driving for a alittle ( 70 mph ) while the check engine light came on but when i got back into town and dropped speeds ( 45mph etc ) the light went off- happened twice this wknd- when i got to LBB and got back to odessa- any ideas- oxygen sensor, maybe- just did a recent tuneup on car-plugs/wires- antifreeze-oil change-and new vacuum hose ( had a small leak )-- i know put it on the machine and it will tell you BUT the ck engine light isnt on and the car works just fine.....itchin my head....yes i know take it in...but question is, what do you think it could be...thank you for reading my question : ) 1994 Nissian Atlima

Could be many things causing this, get it diagnosed, not code read.

check codes

the only way to know is to have the code(s) read. even if its out now, whatever the code was would be stored in history codes.reading the code will tell you what sensor is being effected. to diagnose it is to pinpoint it then fix it.

Could be a lot of things. O2 and catalytic converter are not bad guesses I suppose. I'd more suspect a problem with the fuel tank venting system, or a temp sensor going marginal. I guess that doesn't help much. The code is still stored even if te light is out, at least for a while. You can get it read for free at Autozone or Midas. DON'T just change whatever the code says is wrong. It just tells you the area or circuit that needs checking. It just narrows the search down for you.

Did you get gas before the light came on..A loose fitting gas cap will cause your check engine light to come on as well...Take it to Advance Auto the can check it for you for free....Or Autozone as well....

About I need help with guitar care...
I need help with guitar care...?
I just got a Luna Trinity Dreadnought for Christmas and it is acoustic/electric and has a built in tuner... the case has a hygrometer and a thermometer in it. How can I keep it healthily humid without hurting the electronics? I read about the dampit but I just don't know. I need something that will either fit in the sound hole of my guitar (in the shape of the trinity insignia) or can be placed in my case without harming the fabric. I need HELP! I don't want my baby to get ruined. PLEASE give me advice. I live in Lubbock, Texas. I don't know how the local climate works into it but it seems like it would. PLEASE HELP!

About I joined the Air Force and I'm in DEP. I'm also married and concerned about how that works with tech school.
I joined the Air Force and I'm in DEP. I'm also married and concerned about how that works with tech school.
I joined the USAF and got a job as "Missle and Space elec. maintance" I'm also married and my concern is what comes after BMT. I know my tech school starts in Lackland for 10-12 weeks. My wife will be waiting out BMT in Lubbock, TX which is only a 7 hour drive away. She would like to move to San Antonio a few days before my Graduation, (assuming she will need to live there durring my tech school to be near me. Does this sound like a good plan or is there somethings I should understand. Will we be aloud to live together? If so is it up to us, (or her) to find an apartment close to base or are you given temp base housing? Also how long is the norm. once I start tech school before I'll be allowed to move in with her? Also do we need to find a furnished apt. or will the AF move our furniture there? My last question is when I move to my 2nd tech school at vandenburg (12-16 weeks) do I get time off to move her there or is she gonna be on her own? Please help as this is becoming a major prob.

You may have to write a letter of hardship or at least make the request ASAP to have her live with you (which will be at a TLF room for families or the authorization to live off-base at your cost). Immediately discuss this with your TI or MPF representative. Best of luck, but don't forget, it'll all be over with and you will be at your first permanent duty base

Congrats on being in the DEP, Trainee! Okay, problem time. Your first tech school is a TDY (temporary duty) of 10-12 weeks, the next is 12-16 weeks. The Air Force won't pay to move you or your stuff to either school. They WILL, however, pay you a basic allowance for housing (BAH) so she can pay rent wherever she lives. Something you might want to consider: If she's able to stay with a relative while you tough out basic and tech school, you guys could bank that housing allowance while you are in technical training. You will have to get used to family separations at some point, and basic and tech school are better handled without a nearby spouse. Then when you get assigned somewhere as a permanent party airman, you'll have 5-6 months worth of BAH in the bank. They will ALSO at that time pay to ship your belongings from where they are now to your new duty station. Six months BAH is not a bad thing to have when you're starting up a household in a new place, what with first and last months' rent, etc. You might also get into base housing, and just have a nest egg. First take a deep breath lol. My daughter and her husband just did this pretty much in the same places as you at the first of the year. Make sure YOU talk to your co. Get names, numbers, places of whom you need to talk to and do it ASAP. My daughter got stuck living w/us for 2 months because they didn't talk to the right people soon enough. I know it takes a year to get your "credit card" that will help w/your moving expenses etc. as they just got there's last week. He's been in the Air Force now since Feb. Make sure everybody you talk to knows YOUR MARRIED. My daughter/son in law found out after they tried to move her to Washington that the Air Force did not even know they were married...they'd been married for over a year by then. just a little fyi for ya.

About Could someone help me plz
Could someone help me plz?
I am looking for another job and I don't have time to loose. I have tried everywhere else, to find jobs but nothing is working. I am looking for employment in farm and ranch. The person that I am working for right now is blaming me for everything that goes wrong if something is my fault i will admit to it. He wants us gone by next week and I can't do it without a job. I am looking for something in the Lubbock, or even Amarillo, Odessa Texas areas or anywhere for that matter. I don't have any choice in this matter, would someone please help me?

About What college football games are most excited for today
What college football games are most excited for today?
The games I'm MOST excited for are: Iowa vs. Illinois, because I'm a homer and have to go for Iowa Florida vs. Georgia, the world's largest cocktail in JAX I pick UF to win a close one, Tebow gets the job done this year Texas vs. Texas Tech in Lubbock. A lot of my friends are picking TTech but I think Texas hooks 'em in a high scoring game by 14+ points. I'm watching the NW vs. Minnesota game right now, I think NW will do work and get it done. I love college football, maybe a little too much. What do you think about today's games?

About 1984 buick regal 3.8 turbo t type

this guy is selling it for 1500 motor needs some work he think its a coil pack but other than that body just need paint maybe a little here and there but i was just wondering do you think this would be a good project car? may need to put a couple K$ in it but that's my buddy has one but his is bad ass i want one though here the link http://lubbock.craigslist.org/cto/2491130236.html anyone know if these car were as bad as they say they are,my buddy is like a 87 and this on is a 84

you can pick up a coil pack at a junk yard for $50. If that is all this needs to run then I would think the guy would have replaced it. If it doesn't start you might have to replace the whole engine as you really shouldn't believe someone selling a car this old.

In my High school days, The turbo Buick & it's Black painted GN sister car were hot, state of the art cars in 1984-1988. The car is a good choice & price. Waste is right. You at least hear it run for that price! How do you know the turbo is not puking oil down the intake and is fouling out the plugs? That's what I'd worry about. Even with good compression, the turbo is going to cost almost as much as a rebuilt motor.

It's an old car, expect to pour some cash into it. However, once the problems are fixed it should be a reliable and a joy to drive. Just respect the fact, that it's old.

| A young kid or a green beret? I served in the army for 8 years and before that had also played football at Texas Tech. I was a volunteer firefighter and helped out at a local hospital in Lubbock. Now, my GPA of 3.3 wasn't exactly something to write home about, but as you could see I had to juggle my time and this was very hard to do. I am applying to work for a private company called Wilsonart International located in Central Texas. There is one other guy applying for the same job and he went to Yales and had a perfect 4.0 GPA, also did volunteer work, and is a class act. We are both very qualified for this job I believe, but my question is, who would you hire? I like the military background..once again what rank and what did you do??/ why did you leave after eight? I could go on...........give it your best shot, but don;t stop looking while you wait for the result...good luck If you are a Green Beret and not an ass...you would be my pick......you would have a good set of skills and have flexability... 2 : You'll demand pay for labor but an employer can bend the rules with the inexperienced one for pay and benefits. You're more likely to stick around until you get the shaft whereas the kid will more likely put up with it until a better paying job comes along. You have the point of unit loyalty whereas the kid is idealistic. So the choice is experience and reliability over cost and inexperience. |

About Where should i get a credit card from
Where should i get a credit card from?
I'm moving in two monthes from Austin Texas to Lubbock texas (about six and a half hour drive) anyways, i was planning on saving up a bunch of money for the move. but it is the slow season at work right now and im not makeing enough money to pay bills AND save very much. So i decided that i want to get a credit card to put all of my moving expenses on (should be about 300 dollars) I'll also have a few hundred that i was able to put back and will use that for food and rent when i get there) Anyways, i want to get a credit card, but my credit is not very good. I tried to get one through chase (my bank) but they declined me. My mother offed to cosign any card that i get. Where should i look to get a credit card? any suggestions? what should i look for in a credit card?

if you have a cosigner just pick a bank and if your parents credit is good they should approve you with the co-signer no problem. You can look over www.creditcards.com for more detailed info and sort for qualities that are important to you. Also don't think many cards offer limits of less than 500 or 1000. I mean unless it's a secured card but you're not asking about that type of card.

moving to Ft. Worth/Dallas area?
My husband and I are moving to the Ft.Worth/Dalllas area in the next few years. I am a Respiratory Therapist in the Pediatric ICU in Lubbock Texas at the moment and have 15 years of experience. so I would like to work in a Children's Hospital...don't know where the best places to live and etc are...can anyone help me out?

We have moved often. I have found, that if you don't know a city your best best is to find the best school district. Weather you have kids or not. Home values hold up and usually they have very low crime. Stick to the best school district (best scores)- you'll do fine. /

How to I get a hard ship licencs at 14 or 15? (Texas)?
My mom works out at New Deal and I go to Frenship. My mom was hoping I could get my Hard ship licencs at 15 so I could drive myself to school and to work. My dads work is also out by New deal but we live in Lubbock Texas. Both of my parents want me to go to Frenship because it has better things for me there. So could I get a hard ship? Is there another way I could be 15 and drive to school and work?

go to the texas DMV website and follow the details....and see if u qualify... from what u just said u do NOT...only way u would qualify is if ur parent(s) were disabled and u would need to drive them to doctor appointments and such and only if no one else was available.......but since u have 2 parents not likely...
