Juan takes 15 hours to do a job that his father can do in 6 hours. If Juan works 4.5 hours before his father joins him, how long will it take the two of them working together to finish the first job? Marilyn drove her car from Lubbock to Houston at an average rate of 48mph and returned averaging only 28mph. Find the time going and returning if the time returning was 5 hours more than the time going?

Juan has done 3/10 tenths the job already. His father works 2.5 times better than him, and they have to complete 7/10 the project. His father will complete 5/10 the job, he will complete 2/10. They will work 3 more hours. She travels 7/12 as quickly on the way back as on the way here. So, what took her 7 hours coming here, will take her 12 hours on the way back. It takes 7 hours to come here, 12 hours to go back, and 19 hours total.
